Hello lovelies!! It’s that time of year again, and I am SO SO SO SOOOOO EXCITED! Last year I sat out of ARC August because reading and blogging was so blah for me, but this year I’m back to have fun and cheer for you all. There are a few SMALL changes this year, but I think you’ll like them…maybe? Please??
Twitter Chats
This year there will be no twitter chats. I know this is normally a big part of how we interact with each other but this year I want to try and broaden that a bit with….
Read-A-Thons
This year we will be hosting 2 read-a-thons during ARC August as a way to 1) keep everyone motivated, and 2) keep everyone engaged as the month moves along. And now Shelly will share the details on that because it’s her brain child.
This year, we’re hosting our very first readathon! It will run from August 4 -5, 2018 and we will have another readathon closer to the end of the month (details to come)
The rules for the readathon are quite simple.
1. Read as many books as you can in the 48 hours, without sacrificing your personal well being.
2. There’s no restriction on time zone so feel free to stick to whatever time zone you live in.
3. Track your progress using the #ARCAugust hashtag (on any social media platform)!
We’ll also be giving out some prizes to participants so make sure to use the hashtag so we can keep track of everyone’s progress!
Bookish Bingo
I’ve never participated in a bookish bingo so I’m really excited to be hosting one for ARC August. On August 1st I’ll share the Bingo sheet, and each time you claim a spot share it on IG or twitter with our #ARCAugust tag so that I can see! On August 31st I’ll post a linky where you can share the link to your completed Bingo sheet which will also serve as your entry for a chance to win one of two prizes from our prize packs (some listed below).
Prize
As always prizes are a bonus when it comes to ARC August, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t nice to get. This year RSR put together a few prizes and some are open INT.
US Participants:
3 US Residents will have the chance to win 1 book and 1 tote below:
Up for grabs for Canada participants are:
Thomas Allen & Son has graciously offered up a prize pack for a lucky winner! It’ll be these books:
A Possibility of Whales by Karen Rivers
You are the Everything by Karen Rivers
Tell Me No Lies by Adel Griffin
Up for grabs for INT participants:
Shipping is crazy expensive so in place of prize packs for people outside of the US and Canada Shelly is offering 1 book of your choice up to $20 CAD from The Book Depository.
Of course whittling down your ARC pile is a reward in itself but these aren’t half bad am I right!? So, please fill in the linky below to sign up for this years ARC August, and please put your country next to your name, ie. Octavia USA. Remember each linky we post is your chance to win some cool prizes!
Woohoo! Can’t wait to participate again! This will be my third ARC August (4th time participating if we count that one ARC April)! Scheduling my sign-up post right now to go live later this week! 🙂

I am 100% in. Elley just told me about this and it sounds AMAZING.
I love hearing that you heard about this from a friend! Good luck and thank you!!!
ahhh first time participating and SO excited to crack down on my tbr. crossing my fingers for ample reading time!
Aww thank you so much for joining us!! Remember to have fun with it and GOOD LUCK!!!
Yaaaaay, I was hoping this would happen again this year! I participated last year and it definitely helped motivate me, but I’m hoping to take it up a notch this year by reading almost ONLY ARCs! (The only exceptions that I have planned are for two of my year-long series readathons!)
That is definitely a hell of a personal challenge! But I love it! Thank you for joining us again this year and show those ARCs who’s boss!
Hah I have such a pile of digital ARCs on NetGalley that this is a great way for me to get to them! 🙂

I’m excited to join in!
My first year checking this out! Hoping I do more than my goal of 9, but will be happy if I finish those!
I can’t do the official sign-up because it’s expired, but I’m joining in a little late now that Booktube-A-Thon is over, and I’ve got my TBR up on my YouTube channel!
I also cannot do the official sign-up, I just found out about this challenge. I did make a write up for the challenge though!
