Stop & Chat is a weekly discussion post here at Read. Sleep. Repeat. where we talk about whatever tickles my fancy!
If you read that title and didn’t immediately remember this video you’re doing it wrong and yes, I truly am a 90’s kid.
But ancient Eminem songs and awkward spandex aside, I’M BACK! Can we all take a sec just to happy dance? Yes? YES!
Now that we all have that out of our systems…..I MISSED YOU ALL!! In fact, I missed you all so much that this week’s Stop & Chat I really just want to see how you all are. I’ve been gone for 2 weeks, and before that I was super busy with ARC August so I know I’ve been absolutely horrible with stoping by and visiting your blogs. So I want you to leave me comments filling me in, link up your favorite post from the past few weeks, tell me what new books you have! I genuinely want to know! And to kick off this info dump, let me tell you guys what I’ve been up to.
First I did what any other normal book nerd would do. I went to the Decatur Book Festival! It was so much fun, and I got to meet Michelle of In Libris Veritas , Tonyalee of Lily Bloom Books, Jessica of Lovin’ Los Libros and Christine of Reader of Fictions. All of whom were awesome to be around and chill with. Thanks for not making me feel like a super awkward penguin ladies! I also had the amazing pleasure of meeting Rick Yancy, D.J. McHale, Michelle Hodkin, Marie Rutkoski, Gennifer Albin and my favorite author:
LEIGH BARDUGO!!!!
And we happy danced in front of the entire audience because I feel no shame!
Then I became a couch potato!
Gotcha! My hiatus actually fell on the same week as Ayanna’s (my daughter’s) 5th birthday. We had a sleepover with our cousins, played games, made pizza, fought over popcorn, stayed up late and gave me constant heart attacks!
But once the party, and the BBQ we decided to throw the day AFTER the party, was over I was finally able to start my hiatus. And it kicked off quite lovely if I do say so myself! I sat down and binged watched season one, of one of the greatest shows ever:
Oh yeah! It was as awesome as you are imagining!
In between all that greatness, I somehow managed to finish Reboot by Amy Tintera (review scheduled for the 26th) and The Archived by Victoria Schwab (scheduled for the 19th). Both of these turned out to be “meh” reads to me but that’s ok! I picked up a few new books, and one of them is bound to blow me away right?!
I also found the time, energy and patience to start a new blog, My Clean Eating Adventure. I’m on a mission to eat better, and to help me stay accountable I decided to start a blog. And let me just say wordpress.com SUCKS! Oh my gosh, I will be moving to self hosted ASAP! But that’s a whole nother can of beans.
So what have you guys been up to? Leave your mini updates in the comments, and don’t forget to link one of your more recent post so I can visit!
