Hi lovelies!! Welcome to a new, and hopefully recurring, feature here at RSR where Shelly and I fill you in on all the details from the previous month.
So in the month of October Shelly and I flew through a TON of books! Ok not a ton by “some” standards but a ton by ours! We reviewed:
That’s right folks! TWELVE reviews went up in October and by some twist of fate six of these were at least 4 star reviews. Can we take a sec to acknowledge this miracle?
But we didn’t just review some great books, together Shelly and I managed to read (reviews coming soon) thirteen books!
Shelly read:
And it looks like I’ll Give You The Sun completely blew her away and I need to grab a copy ASAP! And that’s something considering it’s contemp! I was more of a machine this month and really just wanted to read all the books. No, seriously. I wanted to read ALL the books. O.o
Favorite book of the month for me? I’m giving it to Lead by Kylie Scott. This series just gets better and better and I love them so much! But October wasn’t full of just bookish things. Shelly is actually buried under school work and Marie Antoinette (she now knows things NO ONE should know O__O) but has some how made time to watch, for the very first time…
GILMORE GIRLS!!
She just finished season 3 and is in love with Jess and Rory (no spoilers please!!) and it’s giving me all these nostalgic feels! I remember waiting for new episodes and shipping the many ships of Rory and….
Erm sorry guys. Got caught up in a flashback…O_O Any way this new feature is also going to showcase an idea that Crystal of Crystal in Bookland gave me:
As most of you know this year has been pretty rough and I’m slowly making my way back up. Crystal suggested I start doing things for me, which brought about Date Night! We have a theater chain in Cleveland that has $5 Monday’s for any movie (minus 3D). So I’ve made it my goal to take myself to the movies as often as possible as a way to treat myself. In October I saw:
4.5 out of 5 stars for John Wick. I’m not really a Reeves fan but he was insane in this movie! In fact the entire movie had me on the edge of my seat!
5 out of 5 stars to Dracula Untold…and not just because Luke Evans is sexy as hell! This warped Dracula perspective was the perfect start to a revamped franchise!
4 out of 5 stars to The Equalizer. I grew up on Denzel and knew the movie would be great. I had no clue it was going to be so BAD ASS!
3.5 out of 5 stars. Funny, cute, heartwarming and a solid date night movie. This Is Where I Leave You is perfect for a night snuggled on the couch.
As you can see October was pretty darn full for us here at RSR and we’re excited to see what all we tackle in November. But don’t let us hog the spotlight! Tell us what you’ve been up to this month, and if you’ve read any awesome books lately!
