Mini Review -Saving The CEO by Jenny Holiday-

2014 is the year of New Adult. Ok, maybe there are some other genres in there too but for the sake of this post 2014 is the yeah of New Adult. In fact, looking back at the books I’ve read this year about 30% are of the New Adult genre. And I’m happy to say I’ve enjoyed most of them. Some have gritty yet sweet stories. Lovable characters that make questionable decisions. Plots that are familiar yet fresh. Some make you happy sigh and giggle throughout the entire book. Saving the CEO was not one of those. Well not completely. I did enjoy the characters and the plot and I spent my fair share amount of time sighing but overall Saving the CEO just wasn’t….enough for me. Clocking in at just over 250 pages I really just felt like the story of Jack & Cassie was rushed. I prefer, and love stories where the romance builds. Intensifying with each page, becoming juicier with each touch and while the story had plenty of sizzle everything happened so fast. The “chemistry”, the sex, the banter. Jack and Cassie were cute, I can’t deny that and there were points when Holiday tried to add in some grit but overall the story just fell flat to me. I didn’t really connect with the trials the characters were going through and while I wasn’t against their relationship I wasn’t hardcore shipping it either.
