Well week one flew by! As promised, every week during the challenge Shelly and I will have an update for you of the books we finished (or didn’t) along with potential review dates!
Shelly’s Update
My first couple of days were really productive but the last couple haven’t been. I’ve been trying hard to read but I keep going out with friends and now I’m doing Pitch Wars (writing contest) which takes a lot more energy and effort and my internship.. but I’m trying!
Here are the books I’ve read:
1. After the Red Rain: DNF Review here
2. Everything, Everything: 5 star review to be posted on August 28th
3. Bright Lights, Dark Nights, 4 star review here
4. Dreamstrider, 4 star review to be posted on October 1st
Reading goals for next week:
I hope to finish these pretties next week, but I’m not sure how it’ll go! I do have a ton of September ARCs I need to finish + now a ton of October ones!
Octavia’s Update
My first week was…..well I wasn’t Shelly that’s for sure! I picked up 3 different books and so far only one has hooked me!
I picked up, sort of liked but then lost all interest in:
I’m currently reading, loving, and am completely creeped out by:
I may try and read Mechanica later, since it does seem interesting but I really can’t tell you when that “later” will be.
My reading goals for next week are (not including finishing The Dead House):
In addition to this week’s status update I am extremely excited to be giving away my spare ARC of Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo!
I’m so proud and happy that you all have decided to tackle those piles of ARCs you have and that is why this giveaway is EXCLUSIVELY for ARC August participants. Just link your update post in the linky below and I will have this weeks winner announced next week during the next giveaway. Which means you have nearly a full week to get that update post up and linked! NO EXCUSES! 😉
I would love to win Six of Crows, it sounds amazing!
Thank you so much for hosting! I’ve really enjoyed interacting with everyone and all of the encouragement to get these books read and reviewed.
I’m somewhere between Shelly and Octavia! Not as good but at least I finished two and will finish another this afternoon!
Btw, as I told Shelly I want to link up to keep me accountable but don’t include me in the giveaway since I already have Six of Crows!
I finished four books, but DNF’d one, so I’m doing well on this challenge. Great first week ladies. I have really enjoyed meeting new bloggers. I like getting to know new people.
Grace @ Books of Love
Technically I finished 3, and DNFed 1. But when I made my post I counted it it as four books for the week. O am having a lot of fun participating, and it has really helped me put myself ahead of my gigantic ARC pile.
Have a great week ladies! <3
I finished two books and DNF the third. I’m going to be slacking a bit this coming week since I’m also getting ready for Pitch Wars, but I’ll try to at least read 1-2 more ARCs.
I’ve only read 2 ARCs for the first week because I got so busy with school haha! I hope this week won’t be as busy because I want to read more.
I loved Everything, Everything, Shelly! Can’t wait to read your review! <3
I don’t want to enter the giveaway, because I already have Six of Crows. I’m happy that I already got a review written, and I’m proud that I was somehow able to compare it to Avatar. XD I envy both of your progress(es? Is this correct?)! I just finished another ARC, Armada, and that puts my progress at 21% only. And I plan to finish this in two weeks too.
You did great, I loved Everything, Everything too. I managed 6 books towards my goal of 25.
Awesome job you guys! I read Mechanica and there are parts that are very slow. But I finished it and ended up enjoying it. I can’t wait to read Everything, Everything and The Accident Season.
I love this event! I am so excited that I am participating in this! I only finished 2 ARCs in week one, but I plan on tackling a lot more this month! Thanks for hosting and thanks for the generous giveaway! xo
btw, I’m almost done with The Accident Season… I really like it. 😀
