Every ninety years, twelve gods incarnate as humans. They are loved. They are hated. In two years, they are dead. The team behind critical tongue-attractors like Young Avengers and PHONOGRAM reunite to create a world where gods are the ultimate pop stars and pop stars are the ultimate gods. But remember: just because you’re immortal, doesn’t mean you’re going to live forever. Collects THE WICKED + THE DIVINE #1-5

I borrowed this book from a friend, this doesn’t influence my thoughts on the book or this review.

I heard amazing things about The Wicked and the Divine and when I bought it for my sister as a present, I knew I had to steal it from her and get reading. And boy, I was not disappointed!

The Wicked and the Divine is about Laura, and her obsession with the newly-reincarnated gods. Every 90 years, the gods are reincarnated as humans and this time, they are what we’d call eccentric pop stars. The novels are a bit graphic but nothing too extreme (so probably 16+).

Overall, The Wicked and the Divine was a great start to what I’m sure is going to be an even popular series. I recommend this one for fans of mythology and the comic graphic novels series Saga.
