A laugh-out-loud, heartfelt YA romantic comedy, told in alternating perspectives, about two Indian-American teens whose parents have arranged for them to be married.

Dimple Shah has it all figured out. With graduation behind her, she’s more than ready for a break from her family, from Mamma’s inexplicable obsession with her finding the “Ideal Indian Husband.” Ugh. Dimple knows they must respect her principles on some level, though. If they truly believed she needed a husband right now, they wouldn’t have paid for her to attend a summer program for aspiring web developers…right?

Rishi Patel is a hopeless romantic. So when his parents tell him that his future wife will be attending the same summer program as him—wherein he’ll have to woo her—he’s totally on board. Because as silly as it sounds to most people in his life, Rishi wants to be arranged, believes in the power of tradition, stability, and being a part of something much bigger than himself.

The Shahs and Patels didn’t mean to start turning the wheels on this “suggested arrangement” so early in their children’s lives, but when they noticed them both gravitate toward the same summer program, they figured, Why not?

Dimple and Rishi may think they have each other figured out. But when opposites clash, love works hard to prove itself in the most unexpected ways.

I received a copy of this novel for review, this does not influence my thoughts or the contents of this review.

I heard so much about When Dimple Met Rishi and it sounded perfect for me since I love rom-coms and adorable situations that rise out of awkward situations. I loved this novel and I can’t wait for more readers to discover this gem.

Dimple is headed to the coding and app development conference of her dreams, but she is a bit surprised that her parents are letting her attend, especially since her mom is set on making Dimple find her future husband. Rishi, on the other hand, is a hopeless romantic who wants to find his future wife and is totally on board with his parents setting him up. When the opportunity arrives for Rishi to attend the same conference as Dimple and meet her, he’s all in. The only problem: Dimple has no idea that her parents are using the conference to set her up with Rishi. What arises is an adorable rom-com that starts with a spilled drink, but may end in sparks flying.

I loved both Dimple and Rishi and their POVs were delightful to read. I’m a huge fan of contemporary novels with dual POVs and When Dimple Met Rishi did not disappoint. They both had unique voices that were easy to relate to and enjoyable to read. The romance between them was just adorable, and I can’t wait for more people to read it.

In terms of diversity, Dimple and Rishi are both Indian-American and a lot of the supporting cast was also diverse. There was also a lot of strong moments among secondary characters that make me wish we get another book in their POVs.

Overall, I highly recommend When Dimple Met Rishi for anyone who wants to read an adorable contemporary romance with phenomenal writing and great characterization.
