I’ve heard so many lovely things about Brandy Colbert’s books and based on the description, I knew that Little & Lion was definitely something that I’d enjoy. And I’m happy to say that I was not wrong at all.

Suzette, nicknamed Little by her brother, is back in LA after spending a year at a boarding school. Being back home reminds her of her rocky relationship with her brother, Lion, and what she left behind. Little & Lion explores bisexuality, faith and family in a well-written and engaging way.

I haven’t read Pointe yet (I KNOW, I KNOW) but the premise of Little & Lion was too compelling for me not to pick this one up immediately first. I really loved it, the writing was utterly gorgeous and I completely fell in love with the characters. If I could reach into the book to talk to them, I would.

If you’re a fan of contemporary YA with gorgeous writing and plots that are very character-driven, I highly recommend this one.
