Happy New Year lovelies! I can’t believe how quickly the last few months have passed. I feel like it wasn’t that long ago that I was announcing my hiatus and here we go…back…and ready-ish to kicking blogging butt! I wanted to ease back into blogging and not commit to too much stuff which always leads to me being burnt out. But as always I want to share what I have planned for my share of RSR in 2018!
– New content that isn’t strictly book related.
Over the past year I’ve really found a love for anime, manga, and travel stuff. While RSR will always be a bookish space I want to be able to feel free to include other content too! First up will be a list of Winter Anime that’s on my radar and a mini guide on some anime that has ended if you’ve always been curious but haven’t found your *wow* anime yet.
I also want to share the manga I’ve been reading and eyeing! Who knew that manga would be something I’d grow to hardcore love? All the manga I read IS NOT CLEARED for people under 18 so this will be a smaller part of what I want to introduce. You can always follow all the manga I’m reading on Goodreads since I’ll be logging in there more soon.
If you follow me on twitter you may have seen me go off on weird tangents about places I want to visit and trips I’m planning. Though I don’t think I’ll ever do any extensive travel blogging I do think it would be cool to share pictures and stories from trips I’ve taken, as the year moves on. *Spoiler alert* I’m currently trying to make South Korea happen this year! HOW WILD IS THAT!?!
– Challenges?
Normally by this point RSR would have a huge list of challenges we’re hosting or participating in. This year though we want to keep things a bit simple. ARC August will be happening, and will feature hauls from ALA (are you going?!? Let’s meet up) and our normal level of sass and cheerleading. But outside of that we don’t really have anything planned. I really want us to focus on content and talking with our readers this year and when challenges are on my brain I’m so competitive everything kind of goes out the window…O_O
– Out with the new, in with the old?
Speaking of challenges (yes I’m doubling backwards but stay with me), I want to spend a big chunk of this year catching up on old releases. I know there are a few blogs out there doing challenges dedicated to this and please feel free to link them below incase other readers are interested, but this isn’t a challenge per se. This is more of just a personal goal of mine, and I hope that you all won’t get sick of seeing a few books older than 2 years shine in the RSR spotlight.
And that’s it so far. Check back later this week to see my first anime related post, and as always chat with me in the comments or on twitter!
