Being bad never felt so good, in the third novel in Alisha Rai’s sexy Forbidden Hearts series!
Well-behaved women don’t lust after men who love to misbehave.
Heiress Evangeline Chandler knows how to keep a secret . . . like her life-long crush on the tattooed hottie who just happens to be her big brother’s friend. She’s a Chandler, after all, and Chandlers don’t hook up with the help. Then again, they also don’t disobey their fathers and quit their respectable jobs, so good-girl rules may no longer apply.
Gabriel Hunter hides the pain of his past behind a smile, but he can’t hide his sudden attraction to his friend’s sheltered little sister. Eve is far too sweet to accept anything less than forever and there’s no chance of a future between the son of a housekeeper and the town’s resident princess.
When a wedding party forces Eve and Gabe into tight quarters, keeping their hands off each other will be as hard as keeping their clothes on. The need that draws them together is stronger than the forces that should shove them apart . . . but their sparks may not survive the explosion when long-buried secrets are finally unearthed.
I received a copy of this book for review from the publisher. This does not influence my thoughts on the book or this review.
I started reading the Forbidden Hearts series after seeing everyone on my GoodReads timeline obsess over it and I can’t believe it took me this long to read the series. That said, I quickly fell in love with the series and I couldn’t wait to read the conclusion. Hurts to Love You is just a wonderful, sweet and emotional conclusion to an already amazing romance series.
Eve Chandler is hiding a few things from her family: her ride-sharing job and the crush she has on Gabe Hunter. Gabe has a few secrets of his own, ones that ultimately stop him from getting too close to anyone. When a wedding party (!!) forces the two to share close quarters, it may get hard to keep their distance.
I’ve seen Eve at the proximity of both of the first two novels in the series so I was absolutely thrilled to get to read her own POV. She’s a well-rounded complex character, someone who’s trying to come into her own, and it was just amazing to read. Gabe was equally well-written and it was also a treat to read from his POV. Eve and Gabe were both amazing characters, and their chemistry was equally spectacular.
While the romances are always well written in this series, one of my favourite parts about the series is the family dynamics. The Kanes and Chandlers have a long complicated history but I loved reading this last book in their story. The epilogue wrapped everything up (which I always love) but I definitely would not object from another sequel!
If you’re a fan of complex and emotional romances, I highly recommend this series. It’s truly one of my favourites and I totally recommend it to everyone.
