We all know hype can kill a book. For me hype can often kill any desire I have to read a popular book and other times it builds the book up to standards that can’t possibly be met and I end up picking out the flaws until I hate it. This list of books are the exception to the rule.
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
Legendary by Stephanie Garber
Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
Uprooted by Naomi Novik
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
(Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl)
Angie I totally agree with Illuminae and The Night Circus. I actually wasn’t a huge fan of Caraval, did you think Legendary was better?
I enjoyed Caraval, but Legendary is on a whole different level of awesomeness. Tella is a far more involved and interesting heroine.
I have not read any of the books on your list this week. They all look good.

Happy reading!!
Loved, loved The Hate U Give!! And Legendary (and Caraval) too. I also read The Night Circus and Illuminae – and totally agree with you! Awesome list.
Simon and Illuminae lived up to the hype for me. I’m glad you enjoyed all these books. Some of them are on my TBR list.
